Access & Delivery Services

Access & Delivery Services is responsible for maintaining access to Library resources, whether from our library or another.

The Dean B. Ellis Library provides limited access and borrowing privileges to those in our community.

If you are a student, staff, or faculty member from another Arkansas university or college, see if you qualify for an ARKLink card through your institution before applying to be a Community Borrower.

You can complete the Community Borrower application in person or online. Please note that we require a copy of your photo ID.

Community Borrower Application

Members of the community may use computers within the Library after they have applied and been approved for a Community Borrower's Card.

There are three computers dedicated to community access: two near the Library Service Desk and the Microforms scanning computer. These computers have full access to all Library databases and online resources. Public Printing is not available. Please visit the Service Desk if you need government forms of publications printed.

Members of the community may apply for a Community Borrower's Card at the Library Service Desk. To apply, you will need an Arkansas photo ID and a valid Arkansas mailing address. No immediate access or privileges will be granted. All approved community users must manually be put into the system and have their cards mailed to them. Cards are valid for one year and must be renewed annually.

There is no charge for this service.

  • Must present a valid state issued photo ID.
  • Must complete a Community Borrower's Application Form and sign it at the Circulation Desk.
  • If the application is approved, a Community Borrower Card will be mailed to the applicant. The applicant may not borrow any materials until they receive their Community Borrower's Card.
  • If the application is not approved, the applicant will be contacted and given the reason for the denial of borrowing privileges.
  • Community borrowers may check out 2 items for a maximum 30 day loan period.
  • 3 day grace period beyond the due date before fines are assessed.
  • The borrower must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Overdue charges for most books are 25 cents per day per book with no maximum.
  • A-State Alumni must complete a Community Borrower's Application Form in order to receive borrowing privileges.
