April 1, 2019 - April 30, 2019		All events are free and open to the public except for those specified. Pick a Poem Pick up a new poem each day from our poetry table for yourself or to share with friends and family. There is a chance that your photo may appear on social media. Dean B. April 1, 2019 - April 15, 2019		Post-it Note Poetry Stop by the chalkboard on the second floor in the library to create your own poem with post-it notes! Dean B. Ellis Library - 2nd floor

April 10, 2019 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm		Speaker/Lecture Dr. Rick Lott, Professor of English, will give a brief lecture about poetry and his personal contributions to the genre! There will be time for Q & A. Dean B. Ellis Library, Front Porch

April 11, 2019 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm		Blackout Poetry! Round 1! Take a black marker and use it to blackout text from a source with established text like a newspaper. You can start redacting words until a poem is formed. Sign up sheets are available at the library reference desk and will also be at a table in the union from 11am-1pm on the 10th and 11th. April 16, 2019 2:00 - 3:30 pm		Book Talk/Signing: *Her Silence Broken: Inspirations & Poetry* *YoShara S. Barber* Ms. Barber will give a talk about her book. She will leave time for Q & A and sell some of her books. The cost for her book is $15.00. Payment methods accepted: All major credit cards, cash, CashApp, and PayPal. Dean B. April 18, 2019 All Day		Poem in your Pocket Day Stop by the library to pick your poem for the day. We will also visit the campus and the community to distribute poems on this day.

April 23, 2019 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm		Lecture: Dr. Khem Aryal Dr. Aryal, Assistant Professor of English, will discuss creating and writing poetry. Following, there will be a mini poetry workshop hosted by the A-State Writing Center. Prizes will be awarded! Dean B. Ellis Library, Front Porch 2nd floor

Date: TBA		School Outreach Workshop Note: This event is for Nettleton High School Concurrent Students only. The A-State Writing Center will host a mini poetry workshop at Nettleton High School. The students will create their own poems. Prizes will be awarded. Nettleton High School

April 30, 2019 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm		Poetry Slam Contest The Library will host a poetry slam contest for performances of other's poetry as well as original creations. There will be a chance to win prizes! Sign ups are available at the library reference desk and at our table in the union on various days throughout the month.
