How do I contribute to ARCH?

First, are you a student, staff member, faculty, or alumnus of A-State? Was this item created during your time of affiliation with A-State? If yes to both, then proceed!

Adding your work to ARCH is a quick process. Begin by creating or logging into your Digital Commons account at https://arch.astate.edu/. Once your account is ready, click “Submit Work” in the left sidebar (see screenshot to the left).

  • Select the collection where your item belongs (typically the Department or School you're part of).
  • Enter the title of your work.
  • Your author name should already be entered, add any additional authors or contributors as needed.
  • Add a brief description or your paper’s abstract.
  • Put the date your work was created (year only is ok!).
  • Add three to five keywords that capture the essence of your work. Be sure to separate the words by commas! Like this: health, nursing, cancer
  • Upload the file from your computer and any additional files needed.

Finally, hit submit! You’re done! If you encounter any trouble or need assistance, please email the IR Librarian.

I want my work in ARCH but there are complications.

Please email the IR Librarian with your situation. ARCH can automatically implement embargoes if your work needs to be restricted for a time.

In the event of copyright concerns, there are multiple options:

  • Include metadata only and direct users to where the work can be accessed
  • Provide a pre-print or author’s version of a work
  • Include the dataset and direct users to where the full work is accessible

We will review your copyright transfer agreement, author’s rights, and journal agreements to find a way to include your work in ARCH. You can also check the general copyright status of journals with SherpaRomeo.

If your materials are in physical format or an outdated electronic format, please contact the IR Librarian to discuss how we can help. Depending on the circumstances, we may be able to provide digitization or reformatting services.

I don’t want my work in ARCH.

Please contact the IR Librarian via email with your concerns and a link to your work. Works can be removed in whole or in part, depending on the situation.
