U.S. Government Statistical Agencies
The U.S. Government, unlike many foreign countries, does not have a single agency responsible for producing statistics. This is done by many federal agencies with some duplication of effort occurring. This site features lists of multiple U.S. Government statistical agencies. Many of these agencies, such as the Census Bureau, date to the earliest years of the U.S., while other agencies, such as the Bureau of Transportation Statistics, are relatively recent creations.
