Creating Persistent Links: Gale Databases

Linking to Full-Text Articles from Blackboard, Course Web Pages, and Syllabi

Creating Links To Articles Found In the Health & Wellness Resource Center (by InfoTrac) Database

Unlike the ProQuest and EBSCO databases, Gale does not automatically create persistent links. But don't worry! It's still easy to create one for your classes! In addition regardless of which Gale database you use, the method for creating persistent links remains the same.

1. Go to any of the Gale databases and search for the resource you want to link to. Once you find it, click on the title.

Click on the title of the resource you want

2. On the article display page, click on the "Get Link" icon in the top toolbar.

Click on "Get Link" from top toolbar

3.) A popup window will appear. Copy the link.

4.) Paste the URL you copied above into your document. Now add the proxy URL prefix to the beginning. The proxy URL will always be the same: : https://ezproxy.library.astate.edu/login?url=

5.) The final persistent URL to the article in the example above should look like this:

https://ezproxy.library.astate.edu/login?url=https://link.gale.com/apps/doc/LLRPOD745376042/CPPC?u=akstateu1&sid=CPPC&xid=87ee3f67
