Research & Educational Support

Welcome to the Research & Educational Support Department of the Dean B. Ellis Library

Need some help?

Are you struggling with your research? Don't know where to start? Does your research project seem overwhelming? We can help!

  • LIR 1011/1021: Introduction to Academic Research -- During the fall and spring semesters, we offer several sections of our very popular, 1-credit hour course, Introduction to Academic Research. Face-to-face and online sections are available during either the first or second session of each semester. Search the course catalog for the subject "library" to secure your spot.

  • Schedule a research meeting with a librarian -- Meet one-on-one with a librarian to discuss your research needs. Librarians can help you form your research strategy, recommend specific resources, help you search effectively, and hunt down hard-to-find sources. Follow-up visits are sometimes required for larger projects.

  • Get help from home -- If you are an online student or can't come to the library, you can contact us for research help via phone, email, chat, or online via Zoom or another similar method.
